Dr. Alan Gettis
Nutrition

Dr. Alan Gettis is a nutritionist and clinical psychologist. He holds degrees from four different universities, including a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and an M.S. from The Institute of Human Nutrition, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. For the past 30 years he has maintained a private practice in northern New Jersey. He sees some people specifically for psychology and others for nutrition, but more often than not weaves the two disciplines for a more complete therapeutic approach. An advocate for wellness, Dr. Gettis is a seasoned marathon runner and a long-time vegetarian. His new self-help book, Seven Times Down, Eight Times Up: Landing On Your Feet In An Upside Down World, is a fascinating multi-layered collection of short stories garnered from his own experiences as well as those of his patients.
